Coconut Sugar Price per Ton (FOB) & Terms — Dated Guide
Direct answer
What is the coconut sugar price per ton, FOB Indonesia?
Conventional (natural) coconut sugar from our factory in Magelang, Central Java, is quoted at USD 2,000–2,800 per metric ton FOB Semarang or Surabaya, and the same band covers granulated (mesh 30) and powder (mesh 50). The band includes standard export packaging. The minimum order is one pallet, 1.5 metric tons, and a quoted price is valid for 5 working days.

Side-by-side comparison
| Form | Mesh | FOB band (USD/MT) | What the band includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conventional (natural) granulated | mesh 30 | USD 2,000–2,800 | Standard export packaging: bags, cartons, pallet wrap |
| Conventional (natural) powder | mesh 50 | USD 2,000–2,800 | Standard export packaging: bags, cartons, pallet wrap |
Ranges dated . Indicative, quoted as a band rather than a point, and reviewed quarterly. One band covers both forms: powder is priced as granulated.
The FOB band includes standard export packaging; printed private-label packaging is quoted separately and added on top.
These are the factory’s own FOB bands, not a market index. A quote fixes the price for your form, packaging and volume, and holds for 5 working days: send an RFQ, or message the factory on WhatsApp.
What moves the price
Four things move a coconut sugar price, and they are why the band is dated and reviewed quarterly rather than fixed.
Season and sap yield. Coconut sugar is reduced from fresh sap, and it takes roughly 8 kg of sap to make 1 kg of sugar. In the wet season sap runs to a higher volume at a lower sugar concentration and takes longer to reduce; in the dry season the volume falls, the concentration rises and reduction is quicker.
Freight. An FOB price stops once the goods are loaded on board at Semarang or Surabaya, so ocean freight sits outside it: freight moves your landed cost, not the band. On a CFR (CNF) quote the freight to your port is inside the price, and on CIF the insurance is too, so those quotes move with freight rates.
Packaging. Within the band, the price varies with packaging. Printed private-label packaging is quoted on top of the band and has a lead time of its own: once you approve the artwork, printing starts the next working day, and printed packaging takes 7 to 14 days.
Landed cost — what to add to the FOB price
Landed cost is the FOB price plus everything between our load port and your warehouse: ocean freight and insurance, import duty, customs clearance and inland delivery. Coconut sugar is classified under HS heading 1702.90, and the duty on it is set by your own country’s tariff line under that heading, so the rate to use is the one your customs broker confirms for your market.
A line-by-line example for the US lane belongs to its own page: landed cost to the USA, a worked example.
Payment terms and security
Payment runs in two stages: a 30% down payment, then the balance against the Bill of Lading, no later than one week after the B/L is issued. A letter of credit is also accepted. A quoted price is valid for 5 working days.
How a first order runs, from the quote to the balance, is set out step by step in payment security for first orders.
Alongside the terms: samples are free of charge, with courier delivery at the buyer’s cost — DHL, FedEx, EMS or CDEK. A Certificate of Analysis is issued for every lot, and a sample from every production lot is retained for five years.
